OUR MISSION

Millions of refugees are currently trapped in despair without resources to rebuild their lives.

Hope Tribe is a nonprofit that rallies communities to show refugees hope by providing the emotional, spiritual, and financial support they need to rebuild their lives.

OUR VALUES

The Hope Tribe is a place where everyday people can bring radical hope to refugees.

COURAGEOUS

We take risks. We stretch our comfort zones of how we use our time, our finances, and our relationships for the sake of refugees.

CURIOUS

We ask questions. We spend more time listening than talking. Refugees know we care because we make ourselves available and pay attention to what is actually needed to support the refugee.

INSPIRATIONAL

We tell stories. It’s not only the media’s job to be the voice of the poor—it’s all of ours. We share stories of the inspiring ways our friends are encountering hope and love.

PEOPLE, NOT PROJECTS.

We don’t see a refugee as a project to be completedwe see them as a person to be loved.

A Hope Tribe is a community of 10-20 people that come alongside an individual refugee or family for a season of rebuilding. As a member of the tribe you pray for the refugee, advocate, encourage, get to know them, and give financially.

MEET THE FOUNDERS.

Our family knows what it’s like. That paralyzing feeling when you watch the news, read the headlines, and see the social media posts of tragedies around the world. You feel like you should do something… but as one human being, you feel like anything you do won’t actually matter.

It’s how we felt before launching into this work in 2008. We began working with homeless, orphans, refugees, and the oppressed directly. Since then we’ve moved our family to Europe when our two girls were 8 & 12 years old to work with refugees… and then moved back to the U.S. in 2018. We’ve gotten our hands dirty and seen God move powerfully in the lives of displaced families.

There’s one important thing we’ve learned along the way. We learned that it’s hard to care about a statistic… but it’s not nearly as hard to care about a friend—or a friend’s friend. So Hope Tribe was born. The people listed on this website are not random; they are people our family knows, our friends know, or our trusted partners work with directly.

They are people looking to rebuild their lives without the network or support to do so. You don’t have to be paralyzed any longer. You can do something little that does something big for a refugee.

To be perfectly honest, we don’t want just your money. We want you in the game. We want you to take the courageous leap off the sidelines onto the field of loving these families, and to experience the power of hope. You can do that right now by finding a refugee and joining their tribe.

100% of every donation goes directly to a refugee. This is made possible by The Core Tribe—a group of donors that support our family directly and covers administrative costs.

Bob Till

Bob has served in cross-cultural work for over 40 years. After seminary, he was appointed to Greater Europe Mission (GEM) and taught at the Greek Bible College in Athens, Greece, for 16 years. While living in Germany, he also served at the GEM home office in various capacities and as the Director of GEM’s Europe-wide ministries.

Bob retired from a full-time position with GEM a few years ago, and now he and his wife are GEM Associates. They have been focused on immigrants and, mainly, the refugees in Europe. They have been part of short-term teams at refugee camps on the Greek island of Lesvos for the past 9 years. Bob’s first trip to Lesvos was in November 2016, when an average of 5000-6000 people arrived a day. Most were fleeing the Civil War in Syria. They also continue to work with Greek organizations in Athens that are focused on helping refugees.
