This is Ali’s story.

Ali had a great childhood and grew up in a well-to-do family with close ties to the government, which opened up many opportunities. Life was good until the civil war erupted. Young men were expected to join the army and fight the opposition. Ali didn’t want to die while supporting a violent war he didn’t believe in. He fled to Europe, leaving behind his family and new wife.

WE CAME AROUND ALI

He told his family he was moving to Europe for work and study. Once he found a job, he planned to send for his wife. The journey was hard. He was beaten and imprisoned. Upon his arrival in Germany, the language was difficult to learn, even for someone like him with a university degree. His job search was even harder.

Time passed, and his wife wondered if he would ever send for her. As despair set in, we met Ali. We listened, discerned, and decided to come alongside him to rebuild a new life in Europe. Communities and churches in the US started praying and giving so Ali could find a job, move into his own flat, and hire a lawyer to help his wife join him in Europe.

HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENED IN HIS LIFE

Today, Ali and his wife are grateful for all Hope Tribe did for them. Our team was able to assist with legally bringing his wife to Europe. Ali is still working, and they live together in a small German town where they are part of the community. Their tribe in the U.S. still prays for them and communicates with them often. On our last visit to Germany, it was a joy to see Ali and his wife walking hand in hand down the sidewalk, laughing, smiling, safe, and full of gratitude.
